      Covid-19 is like a scourge for all of us right now. The amount of misinformation makes us panic and feels threatened by the spread and danger of this virus. Lack of public knowledge about what and how this virus develops makes its spread out of control. government advice.
     
     The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia is part of the on going worlwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 ( COVID-19 ) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).It was confirmed to have spread to Indonesia on 2 March 2020,after a dance instructor and her mother tested positive for the virus.Both were infected from a Japanese national.By 9 April,the pandemic had spread to all 34 provinces in the country and by 4 June,half of them had more than 500 cases.East Java,Jakarta,and South Sulawesi are the worst-hit provinces.The largest increase of new cases in a single day occured on 27 June,when 1,385 cases were announced.On 28 June,there were 1,027 recoveries recorded just within a span of 24 hours,the most ever.As of 30 June,Indonesia has reported 56,385 cases,the highest in Southeast Asia,overtaking Singapore since 17 June.In terms of death number Indonesia ranks sixth in asia with 2,876 deaths.

       Instead of implementing a nation wade lockdown,the goverment had approved LARGE-SCALE SOCIAL RESTRICTIONS ( Indonesian: Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar,abbreviated as PSBB) for some regencies and cities.Starting from late May,they begin to apply NEW NORMAL,alongside with another green and yellow zone regions.This policy received a lot of criticism and is considered as a disaster because cases are still increasing.On 12 January 2020,the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that a novel coronavirus was the cause of a respiratory illness in a cluster of people in Wuhan,Hubei,China,which was reported to the WHO on 31 December 2019.

      On 2 March 2020,Indonesian president Joko Widodo announced the first cases in the country.A dance instructor and her mother in Depok,West Java.Both of them had held a dance class at a restaurant in Kemang,South Jakarta,which was attended by more than a dozen people.One of whom was a Japanese,who was later tested positive for the COVID-19 in Malaysia.As Malaysia reported the case,the goverment of Indonesia began to trace anyone who have had close contact with the Japanese and the infected Indonesians.

      The cluster was initialy identified as the " Jakarta cluster " or the " Dance Cluster ",owing to the location of the infection.Since then,confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia began to increase slowly.By 8 March, a total of 6 people who had attended the dance class were infected by the Covid-19,including one case of repatiated Indonesian from the Diamond Princess.Several COVID-19,cases in West Java and Jakarta were found to have a link with the cluster.

Jakarta became the first  province that confirmed COVID-19 cases,while Gorontalo was the last to do so.Although four out of five most affected provinces are located on Java,the epicenter of the pandemic can be found across the archipelago since all regions,expect of moluccas,have at least one province with more 1,000 cases.So far,Jambi is the only province with no deaths,whereas Aceh and Bangka Belitung Islands have the least number of cummulative and active cases respectively.
